National Screen Institute - Aboriginal Journalism Training Program

NSI’s Aboriginal Journalism Training Program:

* Full-time, 12-week training program for Aboriginal people pursuing a career in journalism (on-line, radio or TV).
* Provides participants with skills required for effective reporting in Winnipeg and Canada’s newsrooms.
* Participants must reside in Winnipeg for the duration of the program.
* Phase one is eight weeks long, includes three days per week of classroom/workshop based training, remaining two days will be spent in a newsroom setting.
* Phase Two is a four week industry internship with a broadcast media organization.
* Program objective is to train participants to be job ready and armed with the tools needed for a successful career in journalism – radio, television or on-line journalism.
* Training is delivered by senior industry experts.

There are no tuition fees or hidden costs.  Before applying, please read the frequently asked questions found on the NSI website, then print out and complete the full application kit.
