Alex Espinosa
Alex Espinosa is a Canadian Fashion Designer and this month’s ACI Manitoba’s Featured Member. Alex has attended Fashion Design at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto, Ontario. He has worked with Apparel companies in Montreal such as Joseph Ribkoff, Jr Scene, Algo Industries and Le Chateau, Canada.
He is currently working on his ready wear collection as a free lance fashion designer which will be available at his studio Alex Espinosa design Services and Local Shoppe Awesome 106 B Osborne St., Winnipeg.
Starting March 8th to the 29th, 2008 he will compete for Winnipeg’s Project Runway 2008 which is on the Event Exchange Centre 291 Bannatyne.
With his creative mind, Alex is working on a project for Molson Brewery in designing outfits for models in promoting Molson products. He is also currently being commissioned to do evening wear for grads of 2008.
Alex loves to get involved in the fashion scene in Winnipeg. On the 25th of May he will show his design with other talented designers at a Fund Raising Fashion event “Fashion Affair” which will be at the Salle Jean Paul Aubri, Franco Manitoba Cultural Centre in Winnipeg.
In his earlier years in Montreal, he was able to collaborate work with artists such as the late writer/singer John Ian Stephens. Modern Dance with Suzanne Miller and Allan Paivio, Sylvie Beaulac Scoop Modelling Agency, Phoebe Greenberg Creation diving Horse, Joy Lou Glidden Dumbo Art Brooklyn New York, Jane Hill of Bran Van 3000, Zilon famous Montreal graffiti artist and Daniel Boucher Quebec singer. He also has volunteered for Diverscite Montreal.
Moving Back to Winnipeg in the summer of 2000 he established a fashion design service company catering to the industry and individual. In 2006 he was awarded as the winner of Winnipeg’s Project Runway. He is also this year’s Rally and Parade coordinator for Winnipeg Pride 2008 celebration.
