Heather Robertson
ACI Manitoba is pleased to showcase Heather Robertson as July’s Featured Member. I have been immersed in photography for as long as I can remember. One of my first part-time retail jobs was in a camera store while still in high school. It was at Sam the Cameraman on St. Mary Ave. This job taught me more about photographic equipment and working with people than any course I could have ever taken at school. Since then, I have worked as a darkroom technician, photographer’s assistant, free lanced for a magazine, managed a retail camera store/lab, started my own postcard business and now I am concentrating on selling my work as stock photography and gallery images.

I have attended many workshops, classes and seminars to help me promote my business and one of the best ones I found was Business SmARTS put on by ACI Manitoba. The presenters, guest speakers and panels gave a great deal of information that works for artists in establishing a presents in the arts arena.
I just finished an exhibition at The Forks and am planning to do some shows at Malls this fall. I am also looking at expanding to other cities in Canada.
