Writing is a creative pursuit that conceptualizes and communicates ideas, entertainment, education, and information and results in the publication of books, magazines, newspapers, and online content.
Publishing is the process of production and dissemination of literature or information – the activity of making information available for public view. In some cases, authors may be their own publishers.

There have been numerous famous writers, novelists and poets who have at one time in their lives called Manitoba their home. The Literary Arts Community help fuel Manitoba as a vibrant cultural Province.

Continuity Writer, one type of script writer, creates station announcements, previews of coming shows, and advertising copy for local sponsors. These editors may also write material for locally produced shows. They must be able to write persuasively, creatively, and quickly because of the pressure of deadlines.
Editor prepares and modifies language, images, or sound through correction. An important part of editing is the idea conception angle, and having the judgment to assign who does the work. Editing is made up of both human relations and creative skills. In a sense, the editing process begins first with the authors’ idea and is then developed between both the author and the editor.
Printing is a process for reproducing text and image, typically with ink on paper using a printing press. It is often carried out as a large-scale industrial process, and is an essential part of publishing and transaction printing.
Scriptwriters are skilled writers who prepare scripts for commercials, soap operas, comedies, and dramas that appear on television, in films, and on stage.
Writers who want fewer restrictions on their artistic freedom tend to write for the Motion Picture Industry or for the Stage. These writers can take more liberties then when writing or TV or media. Motion picture writers work along side an agent. Together they submit an original screenplay to a motion picture producer or studio, or they may negotiate for the job of spinning a novel or play into a screenplay.
