History
The origins of ACI Manitoba stem from the Creative Manitoba Strategy, a document commissioned by the Manitoba Government Departments; Culture, Heritage and Tourism and Advanced Education and Training. The document reported that Manitoba’s Cultural Industries lacked a body that could provide infrastructure development and training across the disciplines of the Arts. Officially incorporated in 2003, and fostered by Manitoba’s arts and cultural community, ACI Manitoba has grown to provide training for nearly five hundred cultural workers annually as well as having initiated both an Aboriginal Program and a program to introduce youth to potential careers in the arts and cultural industries.
