Volunteer Manitoba's goal is to promote and support voluntarism and to celebrate the spirit of volunteerism in our province.

National Volunteer Week in 2012 runs from April 15th to April 21st, and Volunteer Manitoba's 29th Annual Awards Dinner takes place Tuesday, April 17th, 2012.

The award categories include:

• Premier's Volunteer Service Awards
• Mayor's Volunteer Service Awards
• Golden Hand Award
• Manitoba Real Estate Association Quality of Life Award
• Investors Group Arts & Culture Award for Volunteer Excellence
• Manitoba Lotteries Family Volunteer Award
• RBC Royal Bank Local Hero Award
• Volunteer Manitoba Award for Outstanding Community Leadership
• Safeway Celebration of Ability Award

Deadline for nominations has been extended to March 7, 2012
