We have one permanent, full time Reporter/Editor position in our newsroom.

As a Reporter/Editor, your primary objective is to perform reporting and editorial assignments related to the investigating, researching, gathering, writing of news and current affairs stories in a variety of formats, including television. You will contribute to newscasts and current affairs programs for CBC/Radio-Canada in Winnipeg, Manitoba, as well as to regional and national news and current affairs programs. This will require that you develop and maintain contact with a variety of sources as well as work in close cooperation with your program unit.

Your role will consist of preparing and presenting news and current affairs stories and programs for CBC/Radio-Canada, including stand-ups, script/clips, copy news stories, interviews, packs, talk/tapes and other treatments. As required, you will perform other production or administrative tasks associated with the smooth functioning of the newsroom, program unit or station.


Qualifications:

    A university undergraduate degree along with reporting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    A strong interest and ability in reporting and presenting stories in a variety of story formats
    A strong news sense along with strong interviewing, writing and reporting skills
    An aptitude for working with computers and technical equipment
    The ability to work quickly, under pressure, to meet deadlines
    Clearly demonstrated reliability
    A mature, enthusiastic and positive attitude, and an excellent ability to contribute to a team environment
    Excellent writing, reporting, technical and on-air presentation skills
    Demonstrated flexibility with regards to hours of work, along with the willingness and ability to learn new tasks and try tasks outside of your normal range of work, including other media platforms.
    Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to remote locations
