The Manitoba Teachers' Society is dedicated to "safeguarding the welfare of teachers, the Status of the teaching profession and the cause of public education in Manitoba". MTS represents approximately 15,000 Manitoba Educators in 38 local Teacher Associations across the province.
The Manitoba Teachers' Society is seeking a highly motivated and creative individual for a 1 year term position as Graphic Artist in our Communications and Publications Department.
Responsibilities for this position will include design, layout and production of education related journals, newsletters, brochures, posters and other printed materials including our monthly newsletter, The Manitoba Teacher and our annual handbook for distribution to all teachers in Manitoba. Another component will be the design of graphics and related materials for use on the Society website.
The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Graphic Design and a minimum of 2 years related experience. We are looking for someone with illustrative skills, knowledge of design, typography and various visual art forms. The successful candidate will have technical knowledge and experience in Web design, development and maintenance. Proficiency in operating and understanding a variety of graphic platforms and programs is essential as is the ability to use a scanner and photography equipment. Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills are essential. French language skills, both oral and written will be considered an asset.
Conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement.
