Special Event Committee Chair

Sarasvàti Productions

Sarasvà ti is a place where artists can develop and showcase their skills, while celebrating their creativity and pushing the boundaries of the theatrical medium. In connecting with community groups, Sarasvà ti insists upon a theatre that is fulfilling for both participants and audience alike. The company's vision is one of inclusion, where artists and audiences of all backgrounds come together to experience what it means to be human. Sarasvà ti Productions' mandate is to establish and operate a theatre company for the purpose of: 1. Promoting social change and human understanding 2. Supporting and educating emerging artists 3. Experimenting with new forms of theatrical presentation 4. Operating a repertory company that will work as a collaboration of artists creating work and performing new works for a public audience.

The Fundraising and Development Committee has five main roles: To commit the time, energy and influence to secure gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations (which could include making a personal contribution). Assist in recruitment and succession for the committee; Act as ambassadors for the organization, promoting its mission; Provide input into the policy and programs relevant to development activities; Come up with ideas for and participate in fundraising events/activities.

Successful applicants must have: experience in event planning and organization, experience working with a committee, some fundraising experience or interest in the field, and experience working in a non-profit setting.

Committment is 10 hours per month for 1 year.
