Art in the Early Years Classroom

February 17, 2017

Time: 9:00am - 3:30pm
Location: ArtsJunktion –  312 William Avenue, Winnipeg
Cost: $75

In this workshop participants will learn how to support creativity and art as a language in the classroom by viewing visuals of real Early Years environments. We will look at organizing space and time so that young children can choose art every day. Young children learn through play and we will look at the connections between art and play. We will also explore art and inquiry in Early Years classrooms and learn how to develop art mini lessons and technique instruction.

We will look at art possibilities using found items. Participants will have opportunities to play, explore and create, as well as having time to explore Arts Junktion to gather materials to take back to their classrooms. (Suitable for Nursery, K, 1 and 2)

Donna has been an Early Years educator for over thirty years. She is passionate about supporting play and art in classrooms and about life in general.
