Ron Sexsmith | Wednesday May 9
The West End Cultural Centre and Jazz Winnipeg are proud to present Ron Sexsmith w/ Pete Murray at the Westminster United Church on Wednesday May 9th.
Canadian songwriter Ron Sexsmith started his first band when he was a mere fourteen years old, and has enjoyed both critical and commercial success during his career. Some of the same artists who inspired Sexsmith—Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello, Ray Davies and John Hiatt—are now people whose praise he has won.
Pete Murray is an Australian singer/songwriter whose first three albums all topped the Australian music charts in the #1 position.

Skydiggers | Saturday May 26
Toronto roots rockers Skydiggers will perform two sets of music from their new album Northern Shore to a Winnipeg audience for the first time at the West End Cultural Centre.
Northern Shore represents the bold new musical territory the group explores on their eighth studio release. The 15 song collection stands as the most adventurous and varied of the group’s 20 year plus career, capturing the essence of the group’s sound. Northern Shore sees the group mapping new musical territory, but it feels like home.

Garnet Rogers | Sunday May 27
Within ten years, and barely out of high school, Garnet Rogers was on the road as a full- time working musician with his older brother Stan Rogers. Together they formed what has come to be accepted as one of the most influential acts in North American folk music.
Since then, Garnet Rogers has established himself as 'One of the major talents of our time". Hailed by the Boston Globe as a "charismatic performer and singer". With his "smooth, dark baritone" (Washington Post) his incredible range dramatic phrasing, Garnet is widely considered by fans and critics alike to be one of the finest singers anywhere.

After last year’s amazing concert and visual event in support of Cinematheque, the Winnipeg Film Group’s Cinematheque and the WECC join forces again to present BANDS VS FILMMAKERS II.
With Winnipeg icon Sylvia Kuzyk as host, five of Winnipeg’s finest independent filmmakers present their film and video work live to accompany electrifying performances by five of Winnipeg’s hottest independent bands.
