Authentic Transformation: The journey to find the inner voice that calls to us from our place of deep longing. By responding to the ‘call’ of the inner voice, we authentically transform.
This exhibition marks a transition point for the Rural Art Mentorship Program in Eastern Manitoba, a collaborative project between the Manitoba Arts Network and Mentoring Artists for Women’s Art (MAWA). Artist Mentors Jazz DeMontigny and Cam Forbes worked with artists Patricia Penner of Niverville, Sol Desharnais of St. Pierre-Jolys, Lori Zébière of Garson and Margaret Korlak of Whitemouth from September 2011 to January 2012. Over the course of the mentorship the four artists each produced a new body of work for exhibition, meeting once a month to discuss their work, workshop ideas about professional advancement and developing friendships. The Rural Art Mentorship Program in Eastern Manitoba was made possible through the generous support of the Manitoba Arts Council.
Please join us for the opening reception on Saturday, January 28 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. at MAWA. Refreshments will be served. The show runs until February 24, 2012.
Regular gallery hours are Tuesday to Friday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm or by appointment.
