American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell
March 2-May 20, 2012
This retrospective exhibition at the WAG is the first and only presentation of Norman Rockwell’s paintings in Canada. One of the most popular North American artists of the past century, Rockwell (1894-1978) chronicled our changing society in the small details and nuanced scenes of ordinary people in everyday life, providing a personalized interpretation—albeit often an idealized one—of American identity.
