Interested in learning more about a/v tech for your own events or openings? Come out and learn how to:

  • Connect a projector to a MAC laptop, PC laptop, and DVD player using RCA, HDMI, and VGA with the necessary adapters and cables (and learn what those cables are).
  • Set up an audio system comprising of 2 speakers, a mixer, an amp, a microphone, and MP3 player.
  • Connect the projector to the audio system.

Instructor: Alison Davis

Alison Davis has worked in a technical capacity at various Winnipeg art organizations for over ten years, including as Head Projectionist with the Winnipeg Film Group's Cinematheque, and Technical Coordinator for both WNDX: Festival of Moving Image and Gimme Some Truth Documentary Festival. She currently works as a Technical Associate with Video Pool Media Arts Centre. In her artistic practice, Alison creates short animated films and videos that have screened at festivals and venues around the world.
