Journalists for Human Rights is coordinating four (4) paid internship opportunities for emerging Indigenous reporters through its Indigenous Reporters Program.

The Television Technician (junior) (APTN) works under the supervision of the Director or Producer and provides support to the Studio Crew in the day-to-day production of APTN News and Current Affairs Programming while adhering to the highest journalistic standards, procedures and practices. Key responsibilities include working as a teleprompter, electronic graphics, switcher, audio, AD, studio camera operator, floor director, and editor. Also, prepping the studio prior to production, which includes lighting, camera set-up and striking the set following production.

The Researcher/Writer (trainee) (APTN) works under the direction of the Assignment Editor and gathers content for News and Current Affairs while adhering to the highest journalistic standards, procedures and practices. Key responsibilities include searching for stories; researching, developing ideas using leads/tips; pitching story ideas; interviewing sources, preparing story outlines, reviewing archives; assisting with the preparation of published stories, etc.
