Multimedia Communications Coordinator

Canada’s Royal Winnipeg ballet is looking for a Multimedia Communications Coordinator to join our Marketing & Communications team.

Reports to: Director of Marketing and Communications

The Multimedia Communications Coordinator will be an important member of Royal Winnipeg Ballet's Marketing and Communications team and will play a key role in creating memorable digital, video and print communications to support the RWB's marketing, fundraising, community engagement and artistic initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this person will work collaboratively as a member of an integrated team that includes Marketing, Communications, Sales and Box Office. 

We are seeking an individual who has education/experience in photography, video production and writing/editing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

  • Assist in coordinating media calls and other publicity event for the RWB
  • Assist in creating press releases, PSA's and other communication collaterals
  • Shoot and edit video content for promotional use, interview segments, and event presentations
  • Assist in maintaining website content including images, performer and composer biographies, synopses, program notes and event information
  • Maintain listings and digital content on external websites and entertainment hubs, and identify areas online where RWB's presence could be expanded
  • Assist in creating fresh content for blogs and social media properties
  • Work with Marketing team members to create innovative promotion and communication concepts
  • Assist in determining overall interactive structure, flow, and user experience of website
  • Represent Royal Winnipeg Ballet at various performances and events
  • Participate in social media strategy discussions including new ways to engage audiences through sharing experiences, customized applications, contests, multimedia, etc
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Creative Communications, Video Production, Multimedia Graphics Design or a combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of one year experience in Communications/Graphic Design/Video Production
  • One to three years of related experience in an arts, corporate or agency environment
  • Fluency in current graphic design practices and print/web production software, including InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and After Effects
  • Understanding of and experience in video content creation, branding, layout and design in both print and digital media
  • Ability to effective manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, and work well under pressure
  • Strong organizational, analytical, writing, time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work evenings or occasional weekends to meet production deadlines and represent Royal Winnipeg Ballet at performances and events

SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS

  • Ability to effective manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, and work well under pressure
  • Strong organizational, analytical, writing, time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work evenings or occasional weekends to meet production deadlines and represent Royal Winnipeg Ballet at performances and events
